Presentation of the Servo-n ventilator at the University Children’s Clinic Tiršova in Belgrade

In the joint organization of Paroco medical equipment doo Novi Sad and Getinge Group, a presentation of the Servo-n device with NAVA mode was held last week at the University Children’s Clinic Tiršova in Belgrade.

Neuro-assisted ventilation (NAVA) is based on continuous monitoring of the patient’s respiratory system, by collecting an electrical signal that measures the electrical impulses generated by the contraction of the diaphragm (Edi signal), using a special probe (Edi catheter). This unique technology shortens the time of mechanical ventilation and increases the number of ventilator-free days, providing personalized ventilation that protects both the lungs and the diaphragm.

Mr. Panagiotis Psycharis, Manager of the ACT division from Getinge, in charge of teaching and supporting doctors in intensive care, held a presentation on the clinical and technological aspects of the successful treatment of various indicated conditions of neonatal patients using the Servo-n ventilator. Mr. Psycharis held the training with the support of the Paroco medical equipment doo team for the implementation of this technology produced by the Getinge Group.

The training was very interactive and divided into two segments – theoretical and practical: a presentation of the technical capabilities of the device with examples from practice with adequate accompanying “hands-on” exercises and connecting the patient to the device itself in clinically controlled conditions. In this particular case, NAVA technology was applied to a premature baby of only 630g.

On this occasion, we would like to thank the team of UCC Tiršova headed by Ass dr sci. Snežana Rsovac for the hospitality and the opportunity given to us to present this technology, which we hope will in the future help neonatal patients in serious conditions who are unable to breathe independently to reorient themselves to their own respiratory system as soon as possible, without the help of the device itself.
